Summary: Responsible for the overall operational, financial, quality, and personnel performance of sterile processing operations across assigned departments or locations. Leads supervisors and operational teams, ensuring effective workforce management, resource allocation, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of safe, high-quality, and efficient reprocessing services aligned with organizational and patient care objectives.
Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions: Manages daily sterile processing operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant reprocessing activities. Manages and develops staff through performance management, coaching, training, and employee engagement activities Oversees staffing, scheduling, workflow coordination, and resource allocation to support operational and customer service needs. Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, infection prevention, safety, and departmental standards. Monitors departmental quality, productivity, and service metrics and implements corrective actions as needed. Oversees instrumentation, inventory, and supply operations to ensure operational readiness and availability of resources. Collaborates with perioperative services, procedural areas, supply chain, and other stakeholders to support procedural readiness and service delivery. Investigates and resolves operational, quality, customer service, and personnel issues. Participates in departmental budgeting, resource planning, and process improvement initiatives. Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferred. Complete knowledge of clinical operations, hospital mission and goals, and human resources policies and procedures. Advanced oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multitask, delegate appropriately, and meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide direction and development to employees by coaching, identifying training needs, assigning progressively challenging projects, and assisting in career development planning. Ability to analyze and solve problems in a systematic, logical, and timely manner. Ability to adapt to changes in daily routine. Experience working with Microsoft Office applications and instrument tracking systems; ability to learn additional software as required. Works within legal, regulatory, accreditation, and ethical practice standards relevant to the position: follows safe practices required for the position; complies with appropriate policies and procedures; fulfills any training required; brings potential matters of non-compliance to the attention of the supervisor or other appropriate hospital staff.
