The Role: The Nurse Manager for the Trauma Registry Program provides leadership for a specialized team responsible for trauma registry operations, data abstraction, and analytics. This is a fully remote leadership rolerequiring strong autonomy, collaboration with physician leadership, and a deep understanding of trauma program standards and reporting requirements. In this role, you will balance daily operational oversight with high-level data strategy, ensuring the trauma registry supports performance improvement, compliance, and research initiatives. On a day-to-day basis, you will: Lead and supervise trauma registrars, ensuring efficient workload distribution and team performance Oversee chart abstraction processesto ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of trauma data Maintain and monitor inter-rater reliability, ensuring consistency across all data abstraction activities Analyze trauma registry data and generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports aligned to key performance metrics Present insights and findings to Trauma Program leadership, including the Program Director and Medical Director Assign and prioritize patient cases, ensuring real-time data capture for active trauma patients Collaborate with performance improvement teams to identify trends, opportunities, and quality initiatives Support research efforts, grant-funded initiatives, and resident education programsthrough high-quality data reporting Engage in both leadership responsibilities and hands-on registry work, maintaining operational credibility and expertise This role offers a dynamic blend of leadership, analytics, and clinical program impact, with visibility across multiple stakeholders and initiatives. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from accredited nursing program, Master's degree in related field within 5 years of hire. Experience: At least 3 years of progressively more responsible supervisory experience (preferably at the manager level) as a registered nurse in a patient care environment required, five years preferred Licensure: License to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) certification preferred but must be obtained with 3 years of hire. Certified Specialist in Trauma Registries (CSTR) preferred Certification in AAAM's Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) course preferred but must be obtained with 1 year of hire. Completion of a Trauma ICD 10 course or obtain within 6 months of hire and a refresher every five years Completion of Trauma Registry Course that includes the following: abstraction, data management, report/analysis, data validation and HIPAA or obtain within 6 months of hire. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The pay range for this role is $94,993.60 - $151,985.60 annually.
