As a Security Officer Transitional Shelter in Jamaica, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer at a shelter location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, support residents and staff, and help to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence. You will conduct routine patrols, respond to site needs with professionalism, and deliver strong customer service and communication. Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to residents, guests, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including supporting de-escalation and contacting supervisors and/or emergency services when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity, identify unusual conditions, and report concerns promptly.
• Monitor access to the location by observing entrances and common areas, verifying authorized entry when required, and documenting visitor and/or resident activity according to site procedures.
• Complete incident reports, daily activity logs, and/or shift communications with accuracy, and communicate observed issues, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
