The Director of Portfolio & Program Management leads how Information Technology (IT) prioritizes, plans, and delivers work across the enterprise. This role provides visibility into technology investments, demand, capacity, and business outcomes while establishing processes that support portfolio management, program delivery, roadmap planning, and organizational change management. The position partners with leaders across the organization to align technology investments with enterprise priorities and measurable business value.
A Typical Day in the Life Includes:
- Lead the enterprise IT portfolio management process, including investment prioritization, demand management, capacity planning, and value tracking
- Establish and oversee program and project delivery practices that support execution of cross-functional initiatives
- Develop and maintain enterprise technology roadmaps that provide visibility into priorities, sequencing, ownership, and expected outcomes
- Partner with business and technology leaders to evaluate opportunities, communicate trade-offs, and align resources to organizational priorities
- Integrate organizational change management activities into major initiatives to support adoption and business readiness
- Monitor portfolio, program, and delivery performance using metrics, reporting, and governance processes
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity through delivery process improvements, automation, data, and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience leading enterprise portfolio management, program management, or technology delivery functions
- Experience managing enterprise-scale initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, teams, and business functions
- Experience establishing or operating portfolio governance, prioritization, resource planning, or project management processes
- Experience applying Agile, hybrid, or traditional delivery approaches based on business and program requirements
- Experience leading organizational change management, adoption, and business readiness activities
- Experience developing teams, establishing performance expectations, and supporting employee growth
- Experience communicating portfolio priorities, risks, dependencies, and outcomes to senior leaders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with portfolio management, project management, or roadmap planning tools such as ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), Jira, Aha!, or similar platforms
- Experience supporting technology organizations in software, software-as-a-service (SaaS), or other technology-focused environments
- Familiarity with applying automation or artificial intelligence capabilities to delivery, reporting, or portfolio management processes
- Experience working in organizations that use principle-based decision-making frameworks
- Exposure to technology strategy, data initiatives, or enterprise transformation programs
