Truck Driver Job Overview Title: Truck Driver Reports to: Value Stream Manager Location: Kent, WA - onsite Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt (hourly) Schedule: 1st Shift Hytek production is open 24 hours per day. All shifts are as follows: 1st shift (Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.), 3rd shift (Sunday - Friday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.) Full benefits package includes: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) matching, Performance Share incentive compensation (Profit Sharing Plan), 3-weeks paid time off to start, paid community service day, tuition reimbursement, parental leave, short term disability, long term disability, life insurance, long-term care plan options, 10 paid holidays, and onsite health services that includes access to a massage therapist. Salary Range for position: $ 24.00 - $ 30.00. The pay range and total compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Position Summary Employees in this position are responsible for daily delivery of finishes product and picking up new orders and supplier orders to deliver back to the Hytek facility. This position is responsible for preparing the assigned route each day responding to customer requests while utilizing the most efficient use of fuel and time. Drivers will prepare documents and packages in order to deliver on routes. This is a customer facing role with interactions both to internal and external customers on a daily basis. Key Responsibilities Deliver customer orders on set geographical route daily. Daily duties while driving company trucks include matching certifications to boxes and pallets, performing scheduled pickups, and delivering shop supplies to the storeroom. Review and schedule customer deliveries and supplier pickups. Load and unload truck by hand for smaller packages and using the forklift for larger items; safely securing/strapping down loads prior to transit. Scan travelers, certifications, and shipping documentation into company system as required. Create and update route maps as applicable. Route customer orders to appropriate internal Hytek departments. Deliver vendor pickups with packing slips to the storeroom. Complete driver pre-drive checklist each morning and place inside marked box. Alert manager to any immediate concerns or mechanical issues with vehicle. Clean inside of truck at the end of each shift. Park truck in designated area at the end of each day. Deliver assigned truck to service center when required, communicating with service personnel specific maintenance concerns outside of scheduled service. Be familiar with the safety precautions & know how to avoid injury to personnel. Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to drive positive change in productivity, delivery, and service. Able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, including any safety restraints while operating vehicles. Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to operate company truck and possess current forklift certification. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must have a regular and dependable attendance record. Ability to Read/Write Communicate in English with other employees, Customers, and auditors. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license will be required to work in all areas of the facility. Preferred Education/Previous Experience 1-2 years in delivery route experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
