What to Expect

As a member of the Cell Physics Modeling team, this engineer will develop and maintain advanced physics-based models that capture mechanical behaviors. Additionally, the engineer will lead the design of experiments to test, validate, and deploy innovative design concepts, collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams to drive implementation.


What You'll Do
  • Process and analyze large-scale simulation and experimental datasets using MATLAB, Python, or similar tools
  • Optimize model parameters to accurately predict empirical battery performance
  • Develop automated reporting and visualization frameworks to convey model and test results
  • Contribute to the automation of cell modeling workflow
  • Collaborate with the cross-functional teams to determine ideal cell designs for different electric vehicle and energy product applications

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent experience
  • Expert-level programming and data analysis skills in MATLAB or Python
  • Strong data visualization capabilities
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with lithium-ion cell testing and characterization
  • Background in solid mechanics, especially in Elasticity, Plasticity, Plate and Shell, and Fracture Mechanics
  • Background in finite element theory and material constitutive models
  • Knowledge of battery cell mechanics
  • Strong communication skills and a preference for working in teams

    Expected Compensation
    $112,000 - $192,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
