A Taste of What You'll Do

As a Lead Wine Educator at Rombauer Vineyards, you'll help create memorable tasting room experiences by sharing in-depth knowledge of the wines, vineyards, brand, and winery with guests. You'll deliver engaging tastings and tours, build meaningful relationships with customers, and help guests discover products that fit their interests while promoting wine club memberships and brand loyalty.

In this role, you'll play an important part in supporting day-to-day tasting room operations and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. You'll serve as a resource for team members, assist with onboarding and training, support service standards, and help create a welcoming environment that reflects the brand's commitment to hospitality and excellence.

You'll also contribute to operational success through inventory management, merchandising support, menu updates, vendor coordination, and customer follow-up activities. When needed, you'll step in to support leadership functions, provide guidance to the team, and help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and operational procedures. What You'll Need

• High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of tasting room, customer service, retail sales, wine industry, hospitality, team management, public relations, marketing or teaching and educating others experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of tasting room, customer service, retail sales, wine industry, hospitality, team management, public relations, marketing or teaching and educating others experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
• Required to be 21 years of age or older.
• Required to work weekends and a flexible schedule as needed.
• Required to engage in frequent walking and standing.
• Experienced in reading and comprehending simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Experienced in writing simple correspondence and procedures.
• Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Lift and move product weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Experience executing tasks that required attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience executing tasks or job functions that require good organizational skills and engaging in functions using own initiative.
• Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
• Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  

How You'll Stand Out

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Hospitality Management plus 2 years of wine sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of tasting room, customer service, retail sales, wine industry, hospitality, team management, public relations, direct to consumer marketing or wine education experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate, plus 8 years of tasting room, customer service, retail sales, wine industry, hospitality, team management, public relations, direct to consumer marketing or wine education experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
• Possession of CSW, Certified Sommelier or WSET Advanced Certifications.
• Knowledge of wine and wine production and knowledge of federal and state legal compliance related to tasting room operations.
• Experience training and leading others, with strong communication, presentation, sales, customer service, public speaking, and problem-solving skills.

• Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.In addition to the salary, this position may be eligible for bonuses, incentive plans, or participate in tasting room tip pools, as applicable.
• This position will be based in the location(s) specified in the job posting and requires working on-site with no telecommuting option. You will be expected to live within a commutable distance.
