Precision Castparts Corporation (PCP). Lab Technician - Metallography PURPOSE: Provide overall technical support to Worcester Metallurgy, Quality, and Operations. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Prepare metallurgical specimens and perform microstructure evaluations. Prepare and evaluate on-part microstructures on Titanium & Ni-based Superalloys Provide support to Worcester Metallurgy Preparation of different chemical etchants for microstructure evaluation. EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of high school diploma with concentration in science or mathematics. College degree or course work preferred. Proficient in PC skills (XP, WORD, EXCEL). Experience handling acids and chemicals preferred Experience working in trades, operating machinery preferred Must also be able to work independently with minimum direction. Must be available to work weekends SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work in a shop floor environment Analytical problem solving. Effective listening and communication skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Attention to detail. Good math skills. Ability to lift 35 lbs. US Citizenship or Perm Residency is required due to government military contracts. For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $22.00 to $26.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors.
