USC's Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy invites applicants for a full-time, research track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Research. The Division's scholarly and research programs are broadly defined to support two educational programs within the Division: Biokinesiology (PhD and MS) and Physical Therapy (DPT), and credentialed physical therapy residency programs. The faculty direct a total of 14 research labs and many hold secondary appointments within the USC Keck School of Medicine, the university-wide Neuroscience Graduate Program, and the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. The division seeks in all its many facets to be an energetic participant in the USC Strategic Vision to "address global challenges, spark creativity, invent and innovate, connect peoples and help improve the quality of life."

Required Background:

Applicants should have the following qualifications:

  • Must be licensure eligible physical therapists with an earned PhD degree.
  • No more than 3 years beyond postdoctoral training (at least 1 year of postdoctoral training preferred)
  • Devote a minimum of 75% effort to research
  • Applicants must be US citizens, non-citizen national or permanent resident.

The annual base salary range for this position is $78,000 - $125,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
