HOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY HERE... As a Line Sanitation Specialist, you will help ensure a safe, clean, and compliant food manufacturing environment by maintaining production areas, equipment, and waste disposal systems. Your commitment to sanitation, food safety, and housekeeping standards will directly support product quality, employee safety, and efficient production operations. WHAT YOU WILL DO...
  • Remove waste and dispose of materials in designated containers and compactors.

  • Maintain production lines and surrounding work areas in a clean and sanitary condition.

  • Supply production departments with waste removal equipment, including trash cans, luggers, and related sanitation tools.

  • Routinely clean equipment, floors, and production areas using approved chemicals and sanitation equipment.

  • Follow GMPs, PPE requirements, safety regulations, sanitation SOPs, and USDA food safety guidelines at all times.

  • Support line changeovers and sanitation activities to prevent product contamination.

  • Perform operational cleaning between breaks, lunches, and production runs as required.

  • Properly dispose of food waste and ensure drains remain free of product, packaging materials, gloves, or foreign objects.

  • Minimize water usage during cleaning activities to reduce overspray and cross-contamination risks.

  • Ensure motors, electrical panels, and plugs are properly protected during cleaning activities.

  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment following established sanitation procedures.

  • Properly store sanitation equipment, hoses, chemicals, and supplies after use.

  • Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures when required.

  • Operate compactors and may operate pallet jacks and power washing equipment.

  • Inspect work areas and equipment for cleanliness, safety hazards, and operational concerns.

  • Report equipment malfunctions, sanitation concerns, and potential hazards to supervisors.

  • Assist with sanitation activities throughout multiple production areas as needed.

  • Perform additional duties assigned by supervisors or leads.

Custodial/Cleaning performs custodial and cleaning work including: *Dusting furniture, walls, fixtures, or equipment; cleaning/waxing floors, and cleaning common area kitchens and rest rooms *Operating cleaning equipment (e.g., steam cleaners, floor polishers) *Collecting and disposing of garbage and recycling according to sanitation and operational standards more senior sanitation workers perform equipment breakdown, chemical usage, the cleaning process.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE... (MUST HAVE)

  • Ability to communicate, read, and write in English.

  • Ability to understand and follow sanitation procedures, safety requirements, and GMP standards.

  • Working knowledge of proper chemical handling, usage, storage, and required PPE.

  • Ability to safely work around moving machinery and production equipment.

  • Ability to follow Lockout/Tagout procedures and food safety requirements.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and occasionally climb steps or stairs throughout the workday.

  • Ability to work flexible schedules based on operational needs.

  • Ability to operate power washers and sanitation equipment when required.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety, food safety, and cleanliness standards.

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE... (NICE TO HAVE)

  • Previous sanitation, janitorial, food manufacturing, or industrial cleaning experience.

  • Bilingual communication skills.

  • Experience working within USDA-regulated food production environments.

  • Experience operating pallet jacks, compactors, or related material handling equipment.

  • Familiarity with sanitation SOPs, SSOPs, GMPs, and food safety programs.

  • Knowledge of chemical safety programs, SDS/MSDS documentation, and sanitation best practices.

  • Experience working in refrigerated warehouses or food manufacturing facilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Manufacturing and food production environment with moving machinery and equipment.

  • Exposure to refrigerated, cold, and ambient-temperature work areas.

  • Frequent exposure to loud noise levels and wet/slippery floors.

  • Regular travel throughout production and warehouse areas.

  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, standing, and walking.

  • Use of sanitation chemicals, power washers, and other cleaning equipment.

  • Requires constant awareness of surroundings and adherence to safety procedures.

COMPENSATION
  • Pay: $16.25 + $1.50 per hour shift differential

  • Shift: 2nd Shift

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
