Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality specifications.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing safety practices and quality standards.
- Basic computer and documentation skills preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience deburring small precision components in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using microscopes or magnification equipment (typically 10x magnification) for detailed inspection and finishing work.
- Proven ability to remove burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections while maintaining tight tolerances.
- Experience working with materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, copper, nickel, and specialty alloys.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, medical device, electronics, precision machining, or advanced manufacturing industries.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality management systems.
- Experience working with micro-tools, pneumatic deburring equipment, and rotary finishing tools.
- Knowledge of cosmetic surface requirements and high-precision manufacturing standards.
- Ability to identify and communicate quality concerns to production and quality teams.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Comfortable working under microscopes or magnification systems for prolonged periods.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and steady hand control.
- Ability to safely handle small, delicate, and high-value components.
- Capability to perform repetitive precision tasks while maintaining accuracy and quality.
Job Duties
- Deburr, edge break, and finish precision components using hand tools and magnification equipment.
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, and surface defects while maintaining dimensional integrity and tight tolerances.
- Perform detailed visual inspections to verify product quality and compliance with specifications.
- Utilize blades, files, stones, abrasive sticks, brushes, and rotary tools to complete finishing operations.
- Follow engineering drawings, process documents, and manufacturing work instructions.
- Maintain cosmetic and functional surface requirements according to customer and company standards.
- Handle delicate components carefully to prevent damage during processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation and communicate quality or process concerns to supervisors.
