Staff Training Instructor, Residential Products

The Tooling, Process & Training team is responsible for developing and proliferating custom service and commissioning tooling hardware to assist in the rapid development and maintenance of Tesla Energy's storage and charging solutions, along with the training of individuals on these solutions. This skilled and motivated individual will help with the creation and coordination of the new - hire training program for all residential products, helping with content creation, delivery of said content, project coordination, and acting as the liaison with the field service team.

The ideal candidate has a good mix of electrical and mechanical engineering skills with passion for working in a fast-growing renewable energy company.

• Develop high-quality, engaging technical content and lab exercises on a wide variety of applications (basic and advanced) in concert with process SMEs
• Effectively/enthusiastically deliver equipment-specific training to Field Technicians and Engineers in classroom and field settings using a variety of presentation formats including Instructor-Led, Facilitative group learning, active hands-on learning, and functional assessments
• Provide comprehensive schedule management and tracking of learners completed and required training in the Tesla-specific Learning Management software system
• Work cross-functionally with the Training Systems and Development team to manage content storage and identify and track measures-of-success metrics

• 10+ years of proven teaching and leading training sessions for large cohorts
• Practical experience in Residential technical maintenance/engineering applications
• Knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the maintenance and repair of Residential BESS such as Powerwall and PVI products
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and hands-on experience with hardware, tools, instruments, and methods applicable to field service procedures
• Technology Skills: Ability to integrate AI into teaching & produce VR and ER learning modules
• Well-versed with BESS fundamentals - Powerwall knowledge a plus
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and hands-on experience with hardware, tools, instruments, and methods applicable to field service procedures
• Strong ability to work and communicate effectively with team and peers within the Training, Maintenance, and Engineering organizations such as project stakeholders across program management, field support,customers,EHS, technical publications, service engineering, product design, etc.
• Experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings is a plus
