Location: 4930 38th St, Suite 103, Omaha, NE 68107

Training Location: 630 N Cotner Blvd, Lincoln, NE 68505

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8 am - 5 pm

Training: Approximately 3 weeks at the Lincoln, NE location

Perform blood collection by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups. At least 3 years experience.


Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II / Patient Service Technician to join our team in Omaha, NE. The ideal candidate will have strong phlebotomy and patient-care skills and be comfortable working in a busy, team-oriented laboratory environment.

This position will involve approximately 30-40 blood draws per day and requires the ability to perform venipuncture and capillary collections across all age groups, including children. The role also involves processing client-collected specimens, maintaining accurate patient and specimen records, and providing excellent customer service.


Key Responsibilities


  • Perform blood collection through venipuncture and capillary techniques across all age groups.



  • Draw blood specimens from pediatric through adult and geriatric patients.



  • Process both internally collected and client-collected specimens according to established procedures.



  • Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.



  • Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information.



  • Maintain accurate patient and specimen information logs.



  • Maintain accurate patient manifests and ensure all required information is documented.



  • Verify patient and specimen information to ensure accuracy and compliance.



  • Interact professionally and courteously with patients throughout the collection process.



  • Provide a positive patient experience through effective communication and customer service.



  • Follow company policies, laboratory procedures, safety requirements, and compliance standards.



  • Work collaboratively with a team of phlebotomists and other healthcare professionals.



  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while working in a high-volume environment.




Required Qualifications


  • At least 3 years of phlebotomy experience.



  • Strong experience performing venipuncture and capillary blood collection.



  • Experience drawing patients across all age groups.



  • Must be able and willing to draw pediatric patients.



  • Ability to perform approximately 30-40 draws per day.



  • Experience with specimen processing and preparation.



  • Strong data-entry skills with the ability to accurately enter patient information.



  • Experience maintaining patient and specimen information logs.



  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain compliance with company procedures.



  • Excellent patient-care and communication skills.



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.




Preferred Qualifications


  • Strong customer service background.



  • Diagnostic laboratory or healthcare background.



  • Previous experience in a high-volume phlebotomy environment.



  • Experience working as part of a team.



  • Experience working with pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.




Physical Requirements & Work Environment


  • 100% onsite position.



  • Work alongside a team of phlebotomists.



  • Approximately 30-40 patient draws per day.



  • Expected to stand approximately 5-6 hours per day.



  • Frequent patient interaction and blood collection.



  • Must be comfortable working with patients of all ages, including children.



  • Travel is required only for initial training in Lincoln, NE.
