JOB OVERVIEW: As part of the largest almond grower co-operative in the world, our Global Ingredients Division is the largest business unit within Blue Diamond Growers, supplying bulk and processed almond products to global food, beverage, and personal care manufacturers. The Finance Manager partners with business leaders to turn financial data into clear insights that improve decisions, performance, planning, and execution while maintaining financial discipline. The role challenges assumptions, identifies risks and opportunities, and clarifies the financial impact of key decisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Advise leaders on strategic, operational, and tactical decisions.
- Assess risks, opportunities, trade-offs, business cases, ROI, and scenarios.
- Promote governance, controls, and stronger finance acumen across the function.
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning, and business performance reviews.
- Translate data into actionable insights, explain variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Use Financial dashboards, KPIs, models, and Data & Insights support to monitor performance and standardize analysis.
- Connect operational metrics to financial outcomes across functions and deliver clear financial stories that support timely decisions.
- Partner across functions and within Finance to align financial goals with execution.
- Reduce low-value ad hoc analysis by improving decision support, automation, and standard processes.
- Quantify benefits, track savings, validate results, and bring finance input into discussions early.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, controls, governance standards, audit readiness, and data integrity while balancing financial rigor with practical business solutions.
- Coach leaders and mentor junior finance team members to strengthen finance capability; improve finance tools, processes, and ways of working.
- Partner with Global Ingredients Division leadership on key decisions to support optimum solutions, including contract pricing support and sensitivities to changes in almond market values; contract durations and sales timing; product portfolio decisions based on profitability; and weekly pricing meetings.
- Lead the finance role in Ingredients, Commodity & International Branded Demand Review (Integrated Business Planning - IBP), evaluating forecasts against product availability and market dynamics.
- Identify risks and opportunities to the financial plan with actions for delivery within the IBP process.
- Lead monthly Financial Performance Management for both Global Ingredients Division and International Branded, incorporating variance root cause analysis, performance versus incentive targets, rolling P&L forecasts and sensitivity analysis, and recommendations to achieve or exceed net profit targets.
- Provide weekly financial updates using financial and business acumen, identifying levers or changes required to achieve or exceed targets.
- Lead the Global Ingredients and International Branded budgeting process with appropriate influence and challenge, evaluating demand by product type and pricing by market/customer.
- Provide financial support to the International Branded team by evaluating pricing, promotional, and marketing activities.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- 6-10+ years of progressive finance experience, including business partnering, FP&A, or operational finance.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and build trusted partnerships with senior leaders; excellent communication skills and ability to translate financial concepts for non-finance audiences.
- Combination of education, certifications, and commensurate experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Strong analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex data. Key skills include Business Acumen, Vision and Purpose, Drive for Results, Influence without Authority, and Sound Judgment.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
- Experience partnering directly with sales teams in food ingredients, commodities, or a related manufacturing environment preferred; previous cost accounting experience would be beneficial.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- No direct-report count specified; role includes coaching leaders and mentoring junior finance team members.
