Tharros is seeking aSystems Engineer specializing in Cybersecurity Systemsto support NSWCDD in Dahlgren, VA. These engineers provide Cybersecurity systems engineering expertise for weapon control systems and surface combat, control, and situational awareness systems throughout the full system lifecycle.

The position requires a strong understanding of cybersecurity systems engineering, system security architecture, risk management, configuration management, technical documentation, security assessment and authorization processes, and the operational environments in which complex mission and information systems are deployed. Projects include cybersecurity engineering support across the system lifecycle, including security requirements development, risk and vulnerability assessment, RMF implementation, system hardening, security controls integration, configuration and change management, and cybersecurity compliance for mission-critical systems and supporting infrastructure.

Requirements


  • Develop Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Interface Change Requests (ICDs), and Interface Design Specifications (IDS) for weapons control systems
  • Develop Weapon Specifications (WS) and other system design/integration documents for surface combat, control, and situational awareness systems
  • Support weapon and combat system certification processes, including self-certification criteria
  • Perform system analysis and requirements decomposition for weapons control and combat systems
  • Support system integration testing and validation activities
  • Participate in technical design reviews, configuration control boards, and working groups
  • Maintain requirements traceability from specifications to design documentation
  • Support shipboard system integration and fleet deployment events
  • Document test results, engineering analyses, and system performance assessments
  • Active Secret clearance; ability to obtain a TS/SCI
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline, and eight (4) years of relevant experience
  • OR ten (6) years of a demonstrated and established knowledge base and subject matter expertise relevant to specific technical disciplines required, including the qualifications below; or US Naval operational experience at the E7 level or higher.
  • 2+ years of concurrent experience with Navy surface or submarine shipboard weapons, combat, and/or fire control systems to include current Navy programs such as SLBM and Aegis.
  • CISSP or equivalent certification, and IAM Level II certification or higher in Networking Technologies.
  • Expertise understanding and developing Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), Interface Change Requests (ICD), Interface Design Specifications (IDS), Weapon Specifications (WS) and other system design/system integration documents for weapons control systems and surface combat, control and/or situational awareness systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with weapon and combat system certification processes and requirements, specifically self-certification criteria for elements of weapons control systems and surface ship combat control and/or situational awareness systems.
