Description The Manager of Safety and Security plans, develops, implements, evaluates and manages safety and security programs at the campus level. Safety management includes the following disciplines according to Det Norske Veritas (DNV), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and Department of Health: general safety (inspections, accidents/incidents); life safety (fire drills, testing, inspections); utility management; security and workplace violence prevention, clinical medical equipment; and hazardous materials and waste management. This position manages all aspects of emergency management for the campus and system level responses, from mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery. Required qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education/experience or Significant security and/or safety leadership experience in similar healthcare environment or equivalent work experience may be considered instead of education Successful completion of TASER training and certification (with annual re-certification) within 6 months (180 days) of hire Upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information 5 years of related experience in safety and regulatory compliance, with two years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred Preferred qualifications: Master's Degree Coursework/Training: Certificate Certificate in Safety, Security or related environment of care field, Quality Improvement; Environmental Health and Safety, or Industrial Hygienist upon hire. Successful experience in a supervisory or managerial role for security services applicable to a healthcare institution Successful experience optimizing organizational structures, systems, procedures, processes, staffing, assignments, etc. Why Join Providence Swedish?
