JOB SCOPE: This position supervises, plans, coordinates, and directs staff performances of administrative and clerical duties in support of clinical services. These services include: patient reception, answering incoming phone calls, appointment scheduling, pre-registration, registration, patient arrival and dismissal, referral coordination, financial screening, patient account inquiry; cash collections, and updating demographic information.

SALARY RANGE:

$55,000.00 - $65,000.00

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Plans, organizes, directs and controls activities related to the front desk (patient registration/cashier) and records room;

- Supervises the reconciliation of daily receipt logs including cash, checks, and credit cards. Weekly bank deposit preparation required.

- Resolve patient inquires complaints or concerns regarding their accounts or interactions with clinic staff;

- Set-up patient care financial arrangements for clinics and manage the patient care contracts;

- Expected to provide coverage for practice management tasks including but not limited to, referrals, insurance entry, eligibility and benefit verification, and accounts receivable.

- Run necessary clinical information reports for staff to complete their responsibilities;

- Communicate with Patient Management on status of operations for scheduling patient appointments;

- Review and manage the merging of patient accounts in clinical information system;

- Reconcile monthly operations account, process request for records and subpoenas, and order office supplies;

- Train incoming staff

- Manage schedule templates, provider schedules when unavailable, and special schedule requests.

- Writes and receipts patient correspondence for termination, warnings, or follow up requirements.

- Other duties may be assigned or may be modified as business needs dictate.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience:

- Certificate of Completion or Associates Degree in a healthcare field with 3 years experience in front office operations and clerical support in a healthcare environment.

Language Skills:

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

- Ability to communicate effectively.

- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Computer Skills:

- Knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, and Internet software.

- Knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) software is required for this position.

- Familiarity of CPT-4, ICD9, and Medical Terminology may be required.
