The USC Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences invites applications for a full-time, 12-month calendar, non-tenure track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate of Clinical Pharmacy in the Titus Family Department of Clinical Pharmacy. Candidates must be strongly committed to excellence in teaching, curriculum development and grant writing within the areas of pharmaceutical sciences, biopharmaceutics, drug discovery and precision medicine. The candidate will be primarily engaged in the ongoing development and implementation of coursework related to the School of Pharmacy's undergraduate Bachelor of Science Major in "Biopharmaceutical Sciences," and will thus have a strong background in pharmaceutical and/or biopharmaceutical sciences. Applicants must possess a doctoral degree in a relevant field and have demonstrated educational expertise. The candidate should have extensive experience in curricular development and course management within undergraduate education, with emphasis in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sciences related to drug design, development and implementation. Accomplishments in academic program development should be verifiable, in addition to a desire to create and deliver novel, experiential curricula for the successful applicant. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in the use of varied instructional strategies and technologies that engage students, including cooperative, experimental, and practical learning methods. The candidate will work closely with the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education at the School of Pharmacy to extend the educational growth in the new undergraduate major and other undergraduate programs offered to USC students with an interest in graduate programs in the biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences. The candidate will additionally support the development, analysis, and application of educational research proposals and implementation within the department, regarding the Master of Science Programs. A proven record of accomplishment is expected: (1) in the many sub disciplines of pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sciences; (2) in the ability to evaluate, recommend, and implement procedures for data acquisition, management, and quality control; and (3) in evaluating and recommending statistical methods for data analysis and interpreting results. The candidate will be appointed as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Professor of Clinical Pharmacy (Teaching Track) within the USC School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. As a Teaching Track faculty member, the candidate will be expected to combine undergraduate teaching/mentoring to a total of at least 80% of USC activities. This will include undergraduate teaching, course development, and laboratory development and training, with excellence in these pursuits demonstrated and fulfilled toward consideration for promotion. Scholarly activities and university service are important contributions for the well-rounded faculty candidate's recruitment and success. Routine faculty administration and participation duties, such as attendance at departmental and full faculty meetings and committee service, as well as annual review submissions and peer-to-peer teaching evaluations are expected. This position does not lead to consideration for tenure. The position would include the performance of the following:

The successful candidate will be on a teaching track (non-tenure) with eligibility for promotion, and at the highest level of experience and accomplishment would be eligible for continuing appointment. The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000.
