POSITION SUMMARY

Coordinates the overall functioning and operation of residence life program in a residence hall environment. Also has functional responsibility within the Residence Life Office.

Essential Functions Statement(s)



  • Coordinates the residence life program in two to three single sex or co-educational buildings of approximately 100-225 undergraduate students; selection, training and supervision of six undergraduate student staff/paraprofessional staff.
  • Facilitates community development programs for living/learning communities; develops and implements educational and social programming; monitors hall programming budget.
  • Implements College conduct system; counsels/refers students with academic, personal and behavioral concerns; recommends and formulates policies for the operation of residential area.
  • Advises hall government; assists with Residence Hall Association; advises Hall Council and coordinates training and development.
  • Performs rotational on-call campus coverage.
  • Works closely with campus safety staff.
  • Works closely with physical plant staff to coordinate building upkeep.
  • Works with Director of Residence Life to coordinate staff selection and training.
  • May represent residence life program on various College committees.
  • Supports the mission and vision of the College and respects the College's Catholic tradition.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred. Experience: Two years of residence life experience required.

Other Requirements: Skilled in the use of personal computer and Microsoft Office Suite. Thorough understanding of the theory and practices of college student development. Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills, sense of humor. Excellent oral and written communications abilities. Well organized and attentive to detail. Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and days.
