Job Type Full-time Description The Loan Officer is responsible for originating mortgage loan, HELOC and consumer applications. Requirements Duties and Responsibilities:Assist borrowers in selecting loan programs that best fit their financial goals and needs Evaluate creditworthiness and risks Determine and evaluate the financial status of borrowersKnow, understand and comply with current fair lending laws and bank policies and procedures. Maintain and build relationships through networking and prospecting with bankers, realtors, builders, and your community to attract new businessComplete required annual training for compliance and banking regulations.Identify depository and other cross-selling opportunities for the customer.Actively participate and support Community ActivitiesOther duties as required.Necessary competencies:AdaptabilityCommunication skillsCustomer serviceInterpersonal skillsJob knowledgeJudgementLeadershipPlanning and organizationHighly detail OrientedAbility to work independently and as part of a teamTechnical ExpertiseExperience in mortgage lending is required.Experience with lending laws, regulations, and guidelines are required.Experience in customer service is required.Experience in financial services or banking is preferred.Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Encompass, Cleartouch, OnBase, various government and investor software/web portals is preferred. CRM software is preferred.Education and ExperienceEducation: High School Diploma is required Bachelor's degree is preferredCertification: NMLS is required.Years of experience: 3 to 5 years as a Loan Officer is required.Physical EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, walk, stand, sit, bend, reach with hands and arms, climb, push/pull, use hands, and see, hear and speak.The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.Some travel required to other branches. Hours are typically 8-4:30, M-F; This position is from time to time performed outside of an office setting and hours of work are not always structured.
