Lawrence Berkeley National Lab's (LBNL) Materials Science Division (MSD) has an opening for an Organic and Polymer Postdoctoral Fellow to join a dynamic research team under the leadership of Dr. Brett Helms. Our cross-disciplinary program focuses on the development of sustainable polymers with closed-loop materials lifecycles. These innovative polymers are designed to be infinitely recyclable, helping to combat the environmental challenges posed by single-use plastics and advancing our transition to a circular economy. In this exciting role, you will lead the synthetic development of novel, infinitely recyclable polymers (e.g., polydiketoenamines, PDKs). Your work will be crucial in establishing the design rules that underpin sustainable plastics manufacturing, performance, and recycling. You will collaborate closely with researchers across the Materials Sciences Division, the Molecular Foundry, and the Advanced Light Source, contributing to groundbreaking advancements in sustainable materials.
