Job Summary

A sign-on bonus will be offered up to $5,000 for experienced Senior Cost Accountants!



We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Cost Accountant to support our Ocala Manufacturing Location. The Senior Cost Accountant should be strategic, a team player with a positive attitude, be proactive, manage complex tasks, and possess a high attention to detail. The Senior Cost Accountant must have the ability to collaborate with peers and management and demonstrate exceptional judgement and a high degree of professional maturity.

Responsibilities





  • Assists the Controller with deliverables and deadlines as needed




  • Supports annual standard cost process




  • Assists with calculating and reporting cycle count metrics and related reconciliations




  • Completes all monthly reports on a timely basis with zero defects




  • Reviews transactions to insure proper impact on perpetual and G/L records




  • Reviews variances to determine cause




  • Proactively seeks out ways to improve processes and accuracy and drive efficiency




  • Monitor processes and controls relating to inventory transactions and reporting failures and areas for improvement




  • Natural curiosity to understand workflows and how actions throughout the warehouse impact other areas




  • History of taking initiative and being solution-oriented




  • Report on variances from standard costs, understanding root cause and corrective actions




  • Performs the monthly accounting close process, balance sheet reconciliations and journal entry postings




  • Support compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and related audits




  • Assists excess and obsolete inventory review




  • Support site payables process




  • Other adhoc requests/analysis/projects






Basic Qualifications





  • Four-year degree in Accounting or Finance required; advanced degree or chartered certification (CMA, CFA, CPA) is a plus.




  • Experience with SAP preferred




  • Exceptional analytical skills




  • 1 to 2+ Years in Manufacturing Finance with direct costing accounting experience.




  • Knowledge of GAAP and SOX




  • Strong PC skills (Excel, Access, Power-Point) required




  • Experience with Hyperion Consolidation tools a plus




  • Proven ability to work well in a cross-functional and remote environment




  • Proven ability to manage multiple critical projects in a fast paced environment




  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely across all levels of the organization







Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements



This position will be based at our corporate offices in Ocala, FL, with minimal anticipated travel.
