The NTMA-U online learning program delivers the classroom instruction required for the program. nVent covers 100% of the tuition costs! WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- Follow established safety procedures according to OSHA standards and company procedures.
- The associate must work well with their hands and have a strong eye for detail.
- A journeyman tool and die maker / machinist is a highly skilled artisan. To grow in this role, the candidate must be willing to learn and be able to thrive in an environment where they receive hands-on instruction.
- They should have a working knowledge of engineering, science, design, and technology.
- An apprentice must also be highly detail-oriented and a perfectionist.
- Set-up and operate all machine tools in a tool room environment including but not limited to, conventional mills, lathes, drill presses, saws, grinders and CNC equipment.
- Must be able to work independently with minimum guidance
YOU HAVE:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Trade school experience is preferred (Machining, Fabrication, etc)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and models
- Capable of using standard tools and measurement devices such as micrometers, scales, rulers, depth gauges and calipers

- Abilities to meet the physical and environmental demands of working in the tool room and trouble shooting in the press room.
