Job Summary

Oversees the services offered to Master of Public Administration (MPA) and Ph.D. in Public Affairs (Public Affairs) students, including academic counseling and support services. Provides support to faculty and staff in student recruitment and program promotion efforts, event planning, and assessment reporting.

  • Coordinates the operations and/or financial activities associated with the Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA) and Public Affairs Ph.D.
  • Coordinates the development, scheduling and implementation of new and ongoing academic/student programs or services.
  • Oversees and facilitates specific assignments for the business unit/department.
  • Performs administrative duties supporting instruction/training, including matters such as curriculum development, evaluating quality and methods of instruction, researching and recommending new programs, and/or revisions to existing programs, as necessary.
  • Ensures students are aware of, and in compliance with, academic standards, degree requirements, and broader university policies as necessary.
  • Assists with departmental orientations, program marketing, and recruitment efforts, as needed. Some events will occur outside of regular business hours.
  • Meets with potential MPA applicants to provide advising on application process and program requirements.
  • Supports departmental projects and reporting. Collects program data for quality improvement initiatives and keeps student and alumni records.
  • Monitors accounts/expenditures and reconciles statements for departmental credit card. Advises management on budgetary needs or discrepancies.
  • Serves as liaison between program participants and the university community.
  • Trains, directs, supervises, and evaluates the work of others and is highly accountable to the work of the program, as required.
  • Assures that the staff are compliant with University policies and procedures.
  • Assists the Department Chair and MPA Program Director with long and short-term course scheduling.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of office or related experience.
