About this opportunity Slitter Operator As a Slitter Operator, you will be responsible for safe and efficient operation of all slitting machines according to company procedures and guidelines. Included in their duties is ensuring that they read the order properly, ensure all raw materials are available, and following all Quality and Food Safety system procedures. The Slitter Operator will also be required to assist in other areas of the department and complete any tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

What you will do
  • Operate Slitter / Rewinders
  • Develop required technical skills to perform all job responsibilities associated with slitter/winder operation. These responsibilities include effective machine setups, consistent quality inspections, minimum waste, and high productivity.
  • Quality responsibilities include accurate production reporting, roll labeling, quality documentation, basic machine maintenance.
  • Must always maintain clean equipment and work area. Set example for others to follow in quality, housekeeping, and productivity.
  • Must be willing to assist in any other areas of the department and complete any tasks assigned by the shift Supervisor.

What you have to offer
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to comply with all Food Safety & Quality System processes
  • Ability to comply with and sustain 5S process
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
  • Ability to operate equipment in a safe manner at all times
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately
  • Good communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to plan and perform multiple tasks
  • Ability to work any shift
  • Ability to complete all required tracking forms (AX, Job Plan, Shift Run Report, Quality Sheet, and checklists)
  • Ability to comply with all ergonomic requirements of the job including lifting, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills and good math skills
  • Initiates and supports process and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Excellent record of safety, attendance, and quality performance
