Description

  • Become proficient in navigating and programming the assigned DCS systems through on the job training and self-study.
  • Learn the basics of the DCS hardware, including I/O modules, controllers, servers, and the control network.
  • Learn the basics of the assigned unit chemical process through on the job training and self-study.
  • Assist Process Control Engineer in drafting MOC's for DCS changes and building code and graphics on the DCS Simulator to test them.
  • Propose modifications to DCS/Systems equipment that improve plant performance, safety, or reliability, and reduce costs.


  • Monitor and address DCS alarms, update alarm surveys, propose fixes, and work with unit engineers to execute action items.


  • Meet with DCS Manager weekly and issue progress reports biweekly.

Qualifications
Education
Bachelors of Electrical Engineering (preferred)
Bachelors of Chemical Engineering (preferred)
Experience
Basic Knowledge (preferred)
