Do you have a passion for nursing and desire to share this with others entering this critical field? Hondros College of Nursing is currently seeking dynamic Biology instructors to teach within the Nursing program.

Our teaching roles allow you the ability to continue working in field while exploring the world of Academia and engaging the next generation of nurses. Our nursing courses provide the knowledge, clinical skills, and nursing values critical for students to be successful in this field.

This role is on-site at our Maumee, Ohio campus.

Responsibilities:

• Maintains a positive, supportive learning environment in the classroom
• Provides regular, timely and responsive communications to students using various communication methods
• Evaluates each student's achievement and progress; recommends strategies for success and tutors students to assist them in meeting course objectives
• Advises students on course or program issues
• Instructs assigned course(s) according to the course plan such as Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology, Anatomy and Physiology I, and/or Anatomy and Physiology II
• Reviews class syllabus that follows the designed curriculum plan and explains course requirements
• Designs and implements teaching strategies that will assist the student in meeting course objectives
• Monitors student attendance and performance Recommends changes in courses to improve course effectiveness
• Records students' attendance and grades in CAMS
• Maintains student resources associated with assigned course in CAMS
• Participates in team-level, faculty curriculum and ad-hoc meetings
• Acts an ambassador of the College at all times when interacting with colleagues, staff, and students
• Participates in evaluative studies related to program improvement

Position Requirements:

• Master's degree in Biology or related field from an accredited college recognized by the Department of Education
• One year college level online and/or classroom instruction required
• Ability to coordinate student assignments
• Ability to coordinate projects independently
• Ability to exercise and initiate sound judgment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to analyze, evaluate and summarize information and report findings
• Ability to respond to and resolve sensitive issues and/or escalate to appropriate individual
• Ability to supervise students and provide direction
• Strong presentation skills
• Ability to learn and use new software as necessary
• Ability to use Microsoft Office
• Ability to use a web-based learning management system (LMS)
• Ability to educate students and to demonstrate applications using various methods
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve or recommend solutions to moderately complex problems
