This position will support our Trachte facility in Madison, WI. As a part of nVent, Trachte is a leading manufacturer of highly engineered metal buildings for industrial and commercial applications. Today, nVent connects and protects our customers with inventive electrical solutions. We design, manufacture, market, install and service high performance products and solutions for mission-critical equipment, buildings and essential processes. Offering both prefabricated and on-site building capabilities, framed and frameless building construction types, and products ranging from build kits and modular units to fully engineered integrated buildings.

The Electrical Estimator role is responsible for interpreting customer specifications, identifying the best solution for the electrical scope of a project and creating a cost estimate that meets the customer's needs. This activity includes working with vendors to define and quote large buyout equipment. The output from this role includes the proposal specification that will be submitted to the customer. This role is part of Trachte's commercial development program that includes rotations in several commercial functions to build a strong foundation for career growth into larger organizational roles.

  • Estimates costing for the electrical job scope.
  • Reviews customer electrical specification to determine job scope.
  • Creates initial electrical specification.
  • Provides technical expertise to sales department.
  • Maintains master electrical BOM and/or estimating database.
  • Initiates vendor quotes and pricing for electrical components.
  • Briefs Electrical Designer on job scope when turned into an order.
  • Determines if any additional resources or equipment will be needed to complete scope.
